The drama "NA, TOR JONYO" (NO, only for you ) is a portrayal of the dilemma of an accomplished commercial artiste, Anjan. Anjan, with eyes full of big dreams, wants to create a world of ideals for his next generation. His wife, Jhinuk has conceived. In his study Anjan and jhinuk plans for a bright future for their progeny, to pass on the dreams, to pass on the success…. Jhinuk leaves for her parental home to take necessary care of hers. The play begins……
The night alone at home takes a turn, looking into ANJAN…not only Anjan, into the present-day world through a microscope. The invasion, by utilizing modern day technologies, the AI, the digital world, preys on the minds of the human kind. Anjan, in the known surrounding of his drawing room, slips deeper in the quick sand of solitude in this competitive, ruthless world which aspires to take complete control of his mind. He keeps fighting to get a hold on himself, fight to counter the invasion of his mind, his values, the system…..
The play reflects the violence, greed and perversions in the society, establishing the overarching invasions through digital means. The urban middle-class aspirations are stifled by the society and which has put Anjan into a pathway of success, Or....is it a bigger scheme...playing at the hands of whom.... all of us.... are we being played at the hands of someone invisible...
Through the soul-mining by the playwright, Anjan transcends the barriers of perversions, violence, greed, the rat race and the insensitivities.... looking beyond… only for you…only for his next generation…. overcoming the vices, his doubts and contradictions . The playwright depicted the struggle of Anjan, through a collage of pictures, helped by his conscience, represented by three angels…
The invasion of our space....our world of human existence under threat..... from the strategists, digital invaders and …... At the end, through the main protagonist Anjan, helped by his angels, we see a way to live... a new path..... transcending.... transforming the darkness around to the sunshine… by the ‘kicks’ of the future in the womb of mother....."ONLY FOR YOU, My Progeny…"
